I anticipated this photograph so I could frame Martha Cutter Kelley Smith, 100, with her walking sticks, through the window of Vinland's Coal Creek Library. In fact, I probably waited more than 10 minutes for this brief moment. But with my camera already focused on a spot outside the window and my composition set, all I had to do was press the shutter button as she walked past. Anticipating visual possibilities can put you in the right place at the right time for memorable images.
