Lilli Derby, 5, left, a descendant of Amos Lawrence, for whom the city of Lawrence is named, drops flower petals on the Sesquicentennial Point's Walk through Time with Payton Cummins, 7, grandson of Jim and Clenece Hills, during the dedication of Sesquicentennial Point on Wednesday. The point is a hillside area on the northeast side of Clinton Lake that will be the centerpiece of a planned 1,600-acre park for Lawrence. Clenece Hills was president of the Lawrence Sesquicentennial Commission.
