Pinckney science teacher Chris Anderson works with sixth-grader Maria McKee during an exercise on genetics. The state of Kansas will have over 400 openings for math and science teachers in the next school year. Kansas University has created a new program that allows math and science majors to earn teaching certification along with their degrees.
