3pm seems an odd time to start the caucus even aside from the KU game. 1pm would be more reasonable to start the caucus in terms of flexibility but I guess the party wants to allow for changes in party affiliation; registration at the caucus starts at 1pm. One thing to do is make sure you know where you caucus by going here: http://www.ksdp.org/ and using the caucus locator.
