Town Talk: Lender seeks ownership of Lawrence Athletic Club over default of $2.4 million loan; New York real estate trust buys downtown property; more on chickens and art

Art is more than slapping some paint on a board, in doing so the artist is examining concepts and how we deal with our world and our place in it. Amber Hansen's project was addressing the paradox of the omnivore who kills to live. The fact that her project was funded by a grant is no indication of "goofiness." Somebody bought it. That somebody was The Andy Warhol Foundation. They bought Amber's ideas with a grant. Get it yet? Will that be cash, credit, or grant? If all your ideas about "free market value" are impressive to someone, maybe they will send you a check. Better go wait by the mailbox!

Brownback waiting to comment on concealed carry on campus proposal

If the idea is that the "sane" gun owners packing the heat legally will deter the "insane" gun owners who will be packing illegally-- well, why bother with concealment? Won't you feel a whole lot safer walking into a lecture hall where you can see that a few dozen assault weapons are present?
