Affordable Care Act bringing jobs to Lawrence
Note that these jobs are being created to deal with states, like Kansas, that failed to come up with their own exchange plan. We could have had a big chunk of our federal tax dollars brought back to Kansas for the benefit of Kansans. Brownback is again part of the cause of increased federal spending because he wanted to look like a good little GOPer and refuse to do what would work most efficiently and effectively for Kansas residents.

Letter: An angry rant
"In total, China owns about 8 percent of publicly held U.S. debt. Of all the holders of U.S. debt China is the third-largest, behind only the Social Security Trust Fund's holdings of nearly $3 trillion and the Federal Reserve's nearly $2 trillion holdings in Treasury investments, purchased as part of its quantitative easing program to boost the economy."

Contentious issue of lighted tennis courts near LHS to be discussed again by city commissioners
If you knew the large number of people of all social and economic strata that belong to the LTA, you wouldn't make such a silly statement. You also don't know how many people come out to play for fun that don't belong to any organization. Lots of families, students and groups of friends...and some folks waiting to pick up games with other players.

Contentious issue of lighted tennis courts near LHS to be discussed again by city commissioners
When its 100 degrees in the shade til 6 or 7 o'clock, league play often starts that late...and there are always people waiting for courts after league teams finish up and players don't stop til the lights go out at 10 or 11 o'clock.

U.S. Attorney General Holder tells Brownback new gun law is unconstitutional
Congress and Obama are NOT exempt. In fact, the ACA specifically states that they aren't. And states were given huge latitude in implementing insurance and health care reforms. Kansas decided not to take that option and is now subject to the federal implementation of the plan. Brownback blew an opportunity to have more control.

No health premium hike for county employees
I wonder if a family with one child pays the same as a family with 5 kids. That has always really bothered me.

Brownback administration cites more savings from KanCare, wants to use funds for those with disabilities
Somebody review their numbers!!! This can't be right. He's taking our medicaid dollars an giving it to KU Med??? I don't think that's exactly ethical. That's our money, folks. It should be doing what its supposed to be used for and not filling in gaps in Sam's Unicorn and Faery budget plan.

Gov. Brownback says he'll attend President Obama's event in Lawrence if he's invited
Brownback would trouble himself to come to Lawrence to sneer at the President but not include KU on his list ad campus visits to explain his foolhardy tax plans??

Gov. Brownback signs Kansas drug test law for aid recipients
What a waste of money. Elsewhere laws like this have proven to be expensive and worthless. Does Brownback think Kansans are unaware of what's happening in other GOP dominated states? And the complete failure of hard line austerity and unfair tax laws coupled with over zealous social engineering?
