A bumper crop of butterflies

I remember a huge population explosion of butterflies in the summer 1989 or 90. After very cold winters....seems a cycle of who's eating who?

Baker University triple major is Oxford bound

So where is he from? Baldwin? New Jersey? Timbuktu? Seems like a very interesting and inspiring young man, there's a lot more story there to tell!

Day 90: Legislature attacks Sharia law, United Nations Agenda 21, but no resolution on budget, redistricting

I always think when stuff like this takes up time in our legislature that it's really a building block for Christianist law to sneek in the back door.

Cottins has been doing this for over a year. They probably have worked out whatever they need to have worked out.

KU doesn’t look far from nest for next group of Jayhawk scholars

My daughter went to KU. She very intentionally made new friends and learned to make the best of being in her last choice school. As it turned out, it was a fabulous experience with several study abroad opportunities, internships and independent travel. Not the same as had she gone elsewhere, but in retrospect she is very proud and not the least apologetic for taking the Watkins Berger scholarship and graduating with less loan to pay off for 4 years than she would have had for one year at the schools she had aspired to. And she got a job in a great city doing what she wants to do. With a degree in a liberal arts discipline.

Over the several years, Stanford has gotten 35000 applications for a class of 1500. Keep the options open.

House committee votes to stop use of state funds for legislators to participate in several organizations, including ALEC

The people studying ALEC intently have also been working with the legal folks to bring lawsuits, mainly on IRS statutes as ALEC operates as a non-profit and gets tax exemptions.
