Kansas doctor wants license back in abortion case

I am pro-choice. I would never deny that a human fetus is not human life but it resides in the mother's body for months. Without the mother it can not live. It is her responsibility and hers alone. While I appreciate fathers being involved and supporting. It is natural that the woman has this choice and God gave that responsibility to women to carry that baby. If a mother cannot care for her baby or does not want the baby, the government should not be allowed to force her to birth the child. If you want to look at what would happen if the government took over control of women's reproduction look to Romania when abortion and birth control were outlawed in 1966. Watch the documentary Children Underground. All children should be wanted when they are born. It is very important to their early development that they are wanted and loved. The government can force a women to have a baby (if they outlaw abortion) but they can't force her to love it or want it.

Do you support U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius' refusal to make emergency contraception more easily available?

Plan B has 0.75mg of levonorgestrel and a birth control pill like Alesse has 0.10mg of levonorgestrel. If you can't get Plan B a woman could take 7 to 8 birth control pills. Nordette has 0.15mg, a woman could take 5. But remember ladies, you do not need a man to raise a child. If he opts out, you can still do it! Knowledge is power and women gotta know! Pass this on!

Plan B emergency contraceptive pills contain the hormone levonorgestrel—a common ingredient in certain birth control pills. However, the dosage of this hormone in Plan B is higher than in a single birth control pill. In addition, the hormone estrogen—another common birth control pill ingredient—is not in Plan B.

Plan B is intended as a backup contraceptive for instances when regular contraception methods fail (such as when a condom tears, or two or more birth control pills are missed in a month) or in cases of unprotected sex. It is not meant to be used as a routine method of birth control.

The ingredients in birth control pills and Plan B are not right for everyone. You should discuss using Plan B with your healthcare provider in advance of possibly needing it to determine if it is an appropriate option for you. This is true whether you are under age 18 (women in this age group need a prescription to get Plan B) or age 18 or older (women in this age group do not need a prescription to get Plan B, but must show proof of their age at the pharmacy counter).

Deception

I really don't see how the "love it or leave it" attitude solves any of our country's problems and I appreciate Mr. Obama's presidency so far. I love hearing him speak. He is very intelligent and tries hard to keep his politics positive. I think healthcare reform is an enormous step forward for our country. This is my country too whether you like it or not. I have traveled to India and the Ukraine and at least from my experiences talking to students and professors in those countries it was Bush that had the world confused about America's intentions not Obama. So far Obama hasn't started any wars or gotten any shoes thrown at him. But only time (not the comment section on the LJWorld) will tell how Obama and Bush are remembered. The U.S. Constitution and our form of government is only 234 years old so I would hardly call it the longest-lasting in the world and it is those kind of statements that piss off the rest of the world because it is an ignorant statement that sounds like you have never taken world history and probably don't care to.

Deception

Michelle Obama said "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback." I agree with her. Now she meant the voter turnout rate in 2008, which was the highest since 1960 or 1968 depending on which numbers you like. But I am only twenty-five years old and when I look back on my country's important events in my lifetime I had never felt any pride that I was an American until 2008. I remember Clinton, I remember 9/11, I remember Afghanistan, I remember Iraq, I remember Katrina. Political drama, terrorist attacks, and war do not make me proud to be an American. I don't support war for revenge or for oil. But in 2008 America said to the world, you don't have to be a white man to be our president and I was proud that we proved that.

Midge Offered Proposal by Shelter Board

Since LJWorld deleted the Team Humane Society blog (I guess it got a little too real) I have this to say.I love all the employees at the humane society. The burden they carry so most of us will never be disgusted by poop and/or face animal pain on a daily basis for min wage is so large. After reading the comments on the Team Humane Society blog I feel such pride for the employees there standing up and speaking out. we love animals! We want to care for them and we are happy when they are happy. But please we are people too, just because we are willing to pick up poop doesn't mean we are poop!
