As planners debate Menards project, new study finds retail vacancy rate at 7.2 percent citywide

we need a Menards more than stupid apartments. I realize not very many of you bloggers know anything about tools, and I like Home Depot, but competition is good. Ask wally mart, target, and the rest of the players. Who haven't complained about them. Why Menards?

Gas prices approach record highs

i grow tired of big oil mouthpieces trying to convince the public of all their "problems" at the refineries. This is all purely greed on their part. To have a product and be able to price it high and still sell it is any business owner's dream. Unfortunately this dream cost the American public billions of dollars. Between corporate greed and "investors" helping them drive prices higher, we get screwed every time we fill up.

Editorial: Parking plans

those residents pay their taxes 12 months a year. It is only right that they would expect to be able to park in front of their homes. KU and their "students" have run rampant in Lawrence for years. It is way past time to start reeling them in and holding them accountable. Why can't the frats and sororities be made to provide parking for their members on site? I just know I would not live anywhere near the spoiled brats at KU

City agrees to create resident-only parking zone on street near KU campus

why not? They pay taxes 12 months a year. Students pay nada. It is way past time for the spoiled brats at KU to realize the world is not here to appease them. There will be no way to support this parking deal, as the students will walk all over it anyway, just like always. why don't the student club houses come up with their own parking areas? Oh wait, that would cause them to do something other than make money charging preppies

Prosecutors planning to move forward with allegations of animal cruelty at KU fraternity

had to go there didn't you? With all the problems in America, you and your animal rights activists are worrying about a turkey? This is the problem with today's screwed up society. you need to worry about today's big problems, and not worry about food. When I see you and your friends living with farm livestock to comfort them, I will attempt to believe you ideas. Until then, just a lot of hot air coming from folks with no real idea what to worry about
