Have you ever climbed a tree?
I have climbed many trees in my life. Oak trees, sycamore trees, peach trees, cherry trees, apple trees, persimmon trees, pine trees, and elm trees just to name a few. My mother had a hard time keeping me out of trees as a child. I once climbed a tree so I did not have to eat bread pudding. I loved climbing higher than any of the boys in the neighborhood and carving my initials. I climbed trees with my granddaughter until I was 50+.

Have you or anyone you know ever been involved in a property dispute?
Many years ago two of my neighbors had a dispute over a fence line between their property. The final decision was for each of them to erect a fence 5 feet or so from the disputed line, which left a strip between them....

Dandelions
I beg to differ, Dandelions are good food. You can consume all the parts, leaves, flowers, buds, and roots. Dandelion wine is delicious to drink and has a certain kick. Dandelion jelly tastes great on a homemade biscuit. The buds can be batter dipped and fried, the leaves eaten raw in a salad or cooked like spinach, and the roots can be dried and ground as a coffee substitute or boiled and eaten like potatoes. These plants along with cattails are great foods.

Letter: Grateful for help
I tried to get this for myself, but since I did not live in the town of Lawrence, it was not available. Too bad that those of us who live in small towns cannot receive the same type of service. The guy I talked to was polite and very helpful though...

Do you think preschool is important for childhood development?
If we had parents who would take the time to teach their children while they are toddlers, there would be absolutely no need for preschool. Unfortunately that is not the case for the most part. Parents are to interested in themselves and their personal lives and fun to take the time to teach the children through interaction...

Opinion: Draft makes U.S. defense everyone’s duty
Reinstating the draft would be a good thing, whether we are at war or not. It would teach disipline to many of the lazy, disrespectful young men and women. I know it would benefit many young men who can't or won't keep a job...
