Kansas City Royals week in review: 5/9/2011

Yes, the upcoming games for KC and cleveland could be pretty rough. The Royals just need to survive the next few weeks and not let anyone gain ground or let the indians run away and hide.

I'm very surprised b y the white sox, I'm just not too surprised with the twins.

I agree that winning now is the right idea, but that's going to be costly in about 5 years from now.

I think that having those teams so far out of 1st at this point was another reason that we saw the Hosmer call up. Putting those teams even further down and then making it a 2 or 3 team race early is something which the Royals would clearly prefer.

I picked the twins 3rd in the division prior to the season because I don't believe in them at all this year. I believed a bit more in the sox, but picked Detroit to win.

Sycophant, thanks for the input. This monday weekly recap is just one thing that I do on a weekly basis. I'll have more analysis up as time and opportunity permit. I posted an artivle last week about my thoughts on the callup which you can read here:

The Royals have promoted Eric Hosmer

Hey, I said the same thing in my article too!

The Royals have promoted Eric Hosmer

That's exactly right. I think that it's ok to believe it was right to promote hosmer, but wrong to give up on kila. Unfortunately there is only one spot and hosmer was going to win at some point.

The Royals have promoted Eric Hosmer

I know, I know. Everybody thinks that we've seen enough to evaluate Kila at the big league level. However, baseball is littered with guys who did worse than kila for longer and went on to have great careers.

I'm not against the move, but anyone saying that we know what Kila is, I think is wrong.

I was completely fine with the Aaron crow move. I think we all need to realize though that a month is a very short time in baseball terms. I'm not completely against the move. I'm rather excited, but small sample sizes can fool people into lots of things.

It's interesting and it will be exciting. I can't wait to see Hosmer.

The current rotation will absolutely not hold up even through the all star break in my opinion.

On butler, usually guys his size actually hold up better than most, plus the fact he won't be playing a position should lessen his chance of injury.

Wissmo,

I'm primed too. I can't wait to see a team in contention for an entire season, playoff games and everything surrounding it. I truly believe it's coming and I think it's sooner rather than later.
