Organizer apologizes for Confederate flag appearance at Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade

Get a history lesson. The Kansas side was not any better. After Quantrill raided Lawerence Jayhawkers retaliated into Missouri. Hey an eye for an eye makes it ok. Right?

You can read about them here.

Yes those rebels blocked your passage and it was paid for by government tax dollars. You should file a civil rights violation.

And to everyone else. You are no longer allowed to fly the current Mississippi State flag because it offends people. Are you kidding me.

SWAT-style raid over tea leaves headed to court

Field tests kits are very unreliable and when not used absolutely by the instructions can give a false positive on any plant material that is why field tests are always backed up by lab tests for convictions in court. Sounds like sloppy police work. I hope they win.

Ummm. That map seems pretty heavy along the Massachusetts street corridor until you are north of 6th and south of about 27th. Even then it looks like the dense area stops west of Iowa.

Members of KU Puerto Rican community still despair more than 2 months after Hurricane Maria

“She said she had seen many hurricanes and she was not leaving her house because nothing was going to happen,” she said. “She had at least two feet of flooding in her home. She got out of her home in a kayak with pets.”

So she decided to not listen to all the weather experts and the government that told everyone to evacuate.

Then turn around an complain that the government is not doing enough to help. Top it off with the fact that they voted to not become a state. If you really want to gripe about the support you receive why not pony up and become a state?

"Another factor cited in the decision is that using the VenturePark site for the police headquarters would remove the possibility of industrial or economic development on that acreage, according to the memo."

While that is true. You could equally say that using the 5100 Overland site removes that property from possibility of retail development which would bring in more sales tax to the city (if it sold it). And I am sure the 5100 Overland is valued at more that any property of Venture Park if the city was to sell it.

How close is it to the Freestate High? Can you have guns that close to school? Didn't we shut down a range at the community building because of that?

Suspected thieves escape after Lawrence police call off chase at De Soto

Just dumb shoplifters. How much was taken $100. Give me a break. We don't need to flying down K10 for any misdemeanor petty theft.

City puts an end to artificial ice rink after high costs, declining popularity

Kathleen,

The city tries to do that. Rock Chalk park is a good example. It's booked for tournaments for the next year and they had the junior Olympics there this year. Your idea is dead on but people in this town hate the idea of growing, spending money on something on the west / south side or something that doesn't give crutch to the poor people.
