Statehouse Live: Kansas Arts Commissioner resigns; meeting in Lawrence canceled

Care to explain how Shallenburger is both the Governor's legislative guy and the President of the Kansas Development Finance Authority?

or

Care to explain how Taylor is Secretary of Administration and the Grim Repealer?

Need more examples?

Statehouse Live: Brownback wants only Republicans to approve the budget

Trabert talking about someone else cooking the books beyond belief...now that's a good one. Go look at any one of the "cooked up" studeis KPI does. My particluar favorite is the one where he says we should use the billion(s) of unecumbered reserve dollars in school district accounts, and so on. I love how he counts the money that isn't part of the State's bank account...but is all of the sudden his to spend on our behalf.

Furthermore, Trabert, by engaging on these threads further exposes the reason government leaders should not listen to his rhetoric. It is good for some late night humor though.

Annual burn of the Baker Wetlands

But what about all the spotted frogs and such. We can't have this! It must be stopped! Oh, and the air quality. It's insane I tell you.

Lawrence City Commission candidate Sven Alstrom live chat

That's a little overthemoon if you ask me. A lot of people do not like sven. While I hope he does not win, it does not change the fact that he is an Internet bully, lies, decieves, and has shown by his actions, both online and at community forums that he makes poor decisions. It's definitely appropriate for people to know the type of person they are voting for. If he did not desire to be such a public figure, I could see more merit to your point. In fact, I've seen far worse in the way of haranguing when it comes to other elected officials - and political party positions, on these forums. That said, watch the chat columns following the stories on the other candidates for the commish - you certainly will not see this type of banter.

Lawrence City Commission candidate Sven Alstrom live chat

"I am very proud to say that my first three donors were in fact small architectural project clients all from Lawrence."

- I, for one, cannot wait to read the ethics commission filings to see who these "first three donors" are.

"Many of my supporters and contributors are among the very best people in Lawrence and I am proud to represent them."

- So does that mean you will not represent me if you are elected, Sven? You only represent your cronies? Hmmm...

Which three candidates will be elected to the Lawrence City Commission?

I love how you completely avoid the question and change the subject. Is this what we can expect from your type of leadership on the city commission? It's becoming clearer each day...

Which three candidates will be elected to the Lawrence City Commission?

This post is not about the Oread - it's about the type of person who is a candidate for city commission.

Let's continue to be clear - for months as the Oread property was being discussed and developed, Sven railed against the project and the developers incessantly. He took pride on these threads when obstacles were put up against the development, and specifically rejoiced one particular time when vandals caused damage at the construction site.

So look what he puts on some facebook site for which he is the administrator/creator:

Sven Erik Alstrom DEMOLITION WARNING: Tom Fritzel developer of The OREAD is applying for demolition of this historic house near KU and construction of a five story student housing project. House is one of six significant structures in the area.

But then he says this even more recently on that same facebook page:
