Caucus deadline extended at one location only

From my point of view it was very unorganized at the Douglas County Fairgrounds site, the parking was terrible and muddy. Most people didn't even really know where to go and the lines were long as heck and people were cutting in line. I think more planning should of been done ahead of time. Due to other obligations that evening I never had a chance to vote, plus I freaking got stuck in the mud.

Scholarship honors Boardwalk victim

There is currently a social work scholarship in memory of Yolanda Riddle at Haskell Indian Nations University. If anyone is interested donating to her scholarship, you may do so by visiting the Haskell student bank, located in Navarre Hall. As far as I know their has been two $1000.00 scholarships given out to two Haskell students who are continuing their education in social work.

Haskell partners

The char baby joke is not funny at all...due to the fact I lost a friend in the Boardwalk fire, thanks to a man who is only getting 10 years in prison for murdering 3 innocent people or is it less?

Fudgepop says...I sure like all the propaganda about how white man this and white man
that as well.

The strong contribution of how we have important isssues surface like
how we need to free a man who murdered two FBI agents that we really
know very little about the case.

Besides, I like being blamed for all history and how we need to appreciate
any culture besides those white men.

Happy Halloween.

....this discussion has nothing to do with Mr. Peilter or trying to the blame the murder of the two FBI agents. There is always two sides of the story of what really happened, and I am sure the truth will never surface. Blah, blah, blah. Let's move forward and not backwards. Mr. Campbell, I really appreciate your editoral and your support for Haskell, and everything you said can be done. Hopefully, in the next couple of years funding will come through to rennovate the Haskell stadium.

District begins to kick around ideas for new sports facilities

I would like to see Haskell and the Lawrence Community to come together and put a plan together that would benefit the student/athletes of the Lawrence Public School System, as well as Haskell. Rennovations need to be done at the football stadium and I don't understand why nothing has not been done to correct these issues. Also, has anyone like the new concession vender at the football games? For one I don't care for what he serves. Because I had ordered some nachos with cheese, and guess what the cheese was cold...eww..who likes cold cheese. The other day i ordered a Mt. Dew and it was hot...eww..who likes hot pop. Their hotdogs are GROSS...eww..who likes gross hotdogs..just would like to say is that he's service sucks...

6News Now: Haskell students bring Columbus Day name issue to city commission

kansas778....how can you say that these students kansas778 (Anonymous) says:

I hope people don't get the wrong impression about Native americans from these activists from Haskell, because they are a poor representative of Native Americans. Most of them are not whiny complainers who constantly cry about the past and want to remind white people of how guilty we should feel at every opportunity.

kansas778...what exactly are you trying to say....because you don't make any sense at all at what you are trying to say. I just want you to know that these students stood up for what they believe and how can you say they "are a poor representive of Native Americans." Those students are the voice of all Indigenious Nations. I think it's time for Lawrence, Kansas to acknowledge Haskell Indian Nations University and consider changing it to Indigenous Day, because I never understood what was so great about Columbus Day. I just have to end by saying Columbus didn't discover America, where do you think "America" came from...hello.
I agree with what ksmom had to say, "Perhaps the Indians can go and kill all of Columbus' descendants. Then, we can have a national holiday called, "Indians pay back day."

Rose sentenced to 122 months for Boardwalk Fire

WOW, 122 MONTHS...WHAT ABOUT THE VICTIMS...DID THE AND OF THE JURY MEMBERS EVEN THINK TWICE ABOUT NICOLE, YOLANDA OR MR. GONZALES? I ASSUME THEY WILL LIVE WITH THE DECISION THEY MADE FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE. MR. ROSE GOT AWAY WITH MURDER...I AM REALLY LOSING HOPE IN THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM THAT'S SUPPOSED TO PROTECT US. I STILL MISS MY FRIEND YOLANDA...AND I AM SURE ALL THE PEOPLE THAT KNEW HER STILL DO. REST IN PEACE...YOLANDA, NICOLE AND MR. GONZALES...YOU'LL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Rose faces up to 122 months for involuntary manslaughter

I can't believe he got away with this...to me he's 100% responsible. Yolanda did not deserve to die, nor did the other two individuals. Our justice system is just as responsible. I thought the system is supposed to protect us....it seems to me the system is protecting this man who got away with murder.

Jury hears Rose admit setting fire at apartment

He is 100% guilty...why don't he just admit it...and quit wasting taxpayers money...all I know my friend had to die due to his doings...my life will not be the same, because I lost someone who was very dear to me.
Rest In Peace, Alonz
