Brownback wants to examine mental health services

I think mental health services should examine (and commit) Brownback.

Town Talk: Milton's founders to team up again to start new restaurant at Ninth and N.H.; work on hotel project may begin in November; hotel design tweaked: yo-yo masters in downtown on Sunday

If we'd like to considered ourselves a city, we should not be put off by 'unusual ingredients' - that's certainly relative anyway. I hope they are more creative than burger and fries and pizza. This town is made of many palates as evidenced by the increase in great restaurants over the past few years.

Statehouse Live: Secretary says no formal investigation under way from feds on social service waiting lists

Recall brownie. This has gotten so out of hand. He does whatever he wants.

State agency refuses to answer questions from legislators about growing waiting lists

NOW can we do a recall? What is it going to take. His administration said something about trying to contact people on the list but not getting responses and that some phones had been disconnected...too little too late maybe eh? What does Brownback have to do to get recalled? Seriously. The emperor of Kansas. Ugh.

City to consider approval of incentives package for Ninth and New Hampshire development at July 24 meeting

Including parking? Private parking? Come on Lawrence, we can do better. We can. The tax money should go to the city, not back to Compton to line his pockets and build up his reserves. He's already had plenty of help from Lawrence with his other projects - it needs to stop. It's ridiculous -- and to think this is the best we can do for the heart of our downtown? Pretty unimaginative of such a unique town.

City allows Ninth, N.H. retail/hotel project to move forward

It's a disappointment that our town is satisfied with this, in the heart of downtown, and that we did not challenge ourselves to find or create a space/building that will be truly treasured, appreciated by the neighborhood as well, and that would lift Lawrence in a variety of ways. We could have done a lot better. Should have too.
