Developer pursuing idea for East Lawrence bistro in Warehouse Arts District

I am an east Lawrence neighbor, and I love all of the ideas being discussed and explored by Krsnich. It's good for the neighborhood and our side of the city! Can't wait to eat, drink and patron at neighborhood businesses.

23rd and Iowa, 23rd and Ousdahl improvements up for discussion at City Hall

Chad, do you know what they are building just west of this intersection? On the north side of 23rd. Looks like it could be a fast food joint. Maybe Hardees will make a come back??!!! And, too bad the old Pizza Hut to the east of this intersection still sets empty after what, 20 years. What an eye sore.

Bicylist injured after colliding with vehicle on East 23rd Street

I saw this accident happen. It was approx. 7:15pm. I'm praying the cyclist recovers fully, it didn't look good at all. Everyone needs to exercise extreme caution driving, riding, running, walking, whatever and wherever. We should all look out for ourselves and one another. Be safe!

City to consider banning couches on porches

What about banning porches made out of wood? They are definitely a fire hazard. Heck, your whole house is a fire hazard unless it's made out of steel. We can't live in trees, because they are made out of wood too. This whole earth is a fire hazard-global warming. I think this is ridiculous. If people want a couch, sofa, duvan, bed on their front porch-let 'em. We don't need big brother telling us what can go in or on our own homes.

As Briggs prepares to move out of Sears building, rumors heat up that Dick's Sporting Goods will be moving in

While I love the sport specific & local stores like Garry Gribbles Running Store and Francis Sporting Goods, it will be nice to have a large general fitness store to patron as well. Dick's has a variety of sporting and camping items and clothing, shoes, etc. Their staff in stores nationwide are always friendly and knowledgeable.I think this store would be a good fit for the Lawrence community and especially the old Sears building.

Red Dog's Dog Days announces change to workout schedule

I would like to thank the City of Lawrence and the Parks and Rec Department for being such great partners for Dog Days. South Park is an excellent location for our workouts. What a treasure Red Dog and Bev Gardner are to this community.

Lawrence man found guilty of animal cruelty after tying dog's hind legs

They absolutely should NOT return the dog to him. He deserves a loving, caring, safe home.
