2 Lawrence schools notified about poor pest control in cafeteria inspections

During a Sept. 11 inspection at Lawrence High School, 1901 La., inspectors found roaches, including “seven very active adults, juvenile, and one baby roach found in the seal on the walk-in freezer door in the basement.”
Okay, I'm going there, what is implied by "seven very active adults"? Sounds funny but it's not. May be those "huge flying species" both my daughters have been telling me about,
My daughter already doesn't want to eat lunch because of the cost and now this. I'm sure that she will want to start taking her lunch.

A lesson in being a good neighbor, as KU resumes

This sounds like a great idea. I wouldn't mind seeing this type of initiative in my neighborhood. The students seem to be unaware of the noise ordinance.

Town Talk: UPDATE Vangent to shutter one building, pull contract from Lawrence; new details on Kwik Shop expansion at 19th and Mass.; weekly land transfers; cell phone repair business opens

I'm curious how LJWorld managed to get their hands on an email from a Vangent employee given the Secure Floor Policy? I wouldn't want to be the person that leaked that. Jobs are hard to come by as it is. Oh well, time will only tell.

Sprint says 'network capacity' issues from the return of KU students are the cause of delayed text messages, lost hours

I'm not a KU student but my Sprint phone has been going "crazy" for almost two weeks now. My alarm is set for 5:30 a.m. but it goes off at 4:30 a.m. Dropped calls are the norm now and one day it dialed numbers by itself as if it were possessed. Want to drop the service but don't want to pay an early termination fee.

Lawrence High School names new assistant principal

Thank you for the post coleja. I was beginning to think this was a one-sided affair. I try not to bad mouth people, but I had to put up with his foolishness at Kennedy. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with him at LHS! I welcome the new VP and hope the staff continues to improve.

Lawrence High School names new assistant principal

I'll just say this, whenever I see him, I speak. He wears glasses and yet he seems to ignore me. Maybe he is a great person; he obviously has a problem with me.

Lawrence High School names new assistant principal

When Avery was principal at Kennedy, I had a run-in with him. He wouldn't address a bullying problem concerning my daughter. He is arrogant and unconcerned about the real issues. He was ineffective at LHS and I'm not sure why they are keeping him around. I welcome someone that is willing to work for the student's best interest.

Police investigating body found on bench in 700 block of Vermont Street

Thank you. Some people really should practice how not to be rude. My question was genuine.
