Hi there, missmagoo! Are you having a bad day? I can't really think of any other reason you would take the time and effort to say something so mean-spirited. No one's making you read my blog, which is, by the way, a personal log of my experiences as a parent. In my world, my daughter uttering her first words and forming connections that will set the foundations for a lifetime of communication are intensely interesting. The day-to-day adventures of raising a child rarely (and thankfully) approach action-movie standards. If that's what you're after, perhaps you should rent a copy of "Die Hard."

Lighten up, people. This is a personal column, not hard-hitting news. If you think it's gross to take your children with you to the restroom, I imagine you've never changed a diaper or used a bulb syringe to clean out a sick infant's nose. You do what you have to do to keep your children safe and not wet your pants. And, by the way, my husband is an excellent father, as I've noted in previous blogs.

I'm sorry if by sharing my experiences I've somehow offended your sensibilities. The purpose of this blog -- which is not a piece of reporting but rather a personal column, thus the title "blog" -- is simply to chronicle the ins and outs, joys and tediums of motherhood. Nowhere have I claimed to be an expert, nor have I suggested that my child is more special than anyone else's. If you'd rather not read the "torrid details," then please don't.
