um, last year, KU was in the championship game...where were you? In 2011, KU made it to the regional final, so that would be fourth round. In 2010, it was the 2nd round. 2009, it was in the third round, in the regional semi final. I don't have to tell you what happened in 2008. There is nothing "systematic" wrong with the KU basketball program. If you think KU has problems in the tourney, then you should look at Duke the past few years. With the exception of 2010, when they won it, and this year, they were out in the third round or sooner for the past several years... every program has its issues in a one and done tourney. get over yourself.

Father of slain toddler grieves in Missouri jail
very good article, and I do feel for the guy in that he realizes that the choices he made determined the life of others. While this is always true (our actions affect others), his choices led to a tragic turn. Yes, he made the choices that put him there, but he lost his daughter, and his ex-wife.
drugs and addictions make people do things that we can never understand. I hope he makes better choices when he gets the chance to do so.

I think having his brother at WSU is a factor that I don't remember reading about. His parents will have the kids in the same state and a relative just a few hours away... has to be a big advantage.

100 years ago: Search continues for missing Lawrence child
I just love how the articles were written back then, with more "emotion" or flowery words.... even obituaries were that way. just so different and interesting.

KU faculty, staff push for improved tuition benefits for themselves and their families
any classes taken by KU staff through tuition assistance counts as income. So the "student" is paying taxes.

Sound Off: Stoplight timing
I have driven 23rd street during early commuting hours. I have also waited to cross 23rd street on harper and haskell during commuting hours, so I have no idea why they are complaining...

Sound Off: Stoplight timing
yes, because the traffic flow for commuters is SO much more important than those who want to cross 23rd street on harper or haskell (yes, I am being sarcastic)
