Contentious issue of lighted tennis courts near LHS to be discussed again by city commissioners

Don't forget that an excellent elementary school was closed in order to implement this boondoggle. That tennis court used to be a grassy play area. And now they are saying the (much older and poorly designed) school that they kept open needs to be replaced.

Your tax dollars at work.

Crown auto dealership wins Lawrence business of the year award

Here's my experience: they fixed the same window problem under warranty three times (it kept happening again), then I took it in again and they said no, it's out of warranty. I had it fixed at a private shop, and it stayed fixed (6 years).

Sure, we're all in favor of using tax dollars to mail out propoganda to influence an election toward spending more tax dollars on football fields and flat screen TVs in the lunch room.
Don't anyone pretend the money won't be diverted, as it has been in the past.
