What a relief! He has been on my mind and I was very worried about him. So glad he will recover.

Do you think Lawrence is a safe town for cyclists?
I drive back and forth across town, daily, seven days a week.It is not the cyclists. That would be like blaming anyone on foot. slow down and READ THE LAWS. There are such things, rules of the road. crazy, right?

Cyclist suffers critical injuries after being struck by SUV
so glad you are concerned about the helmet :( the first responders ditched it because apparently his injuries were bad enough that it wasn't worth getting the helmet. I hope he is ok.

Cyclist suffers critical injuries after being struck by SUV
My children and I rolled up on this accident within two minutes of impacst, and there was an official there, but we heard sirens and I cried as the ambulance helicopter flew over. I pray that this person will recover. It has been breaking my heart all night. I pray he is ok.

City wants more info on possible rental registration program fee increase
Merril, I think you are right. I had to recently turn in a landlord for extreme neglegence on a property I lived in. I am very thankful there are rules and regulations and some kind of enforcement to protect renters and their rights. As a long time resident and renter, I have only had to file a formal complaint once.

Three charged for crimes stemming from growing marijuana north of Lawrence
I am sad for the family involved, but would trust my life and the lives of my children with that woman.

School support
one solution that I have heard is re-drawing the boundaries. There will need to be another school built, on the west side, within a few years. Right now the west side schools are bursting at the seams. Re-drawing boundaries would lighten the load on the west side schools, and increase the population in the east side schools. Increasing class size saves money on the east side, and reducing class size on the west side is sure to help the teachers and students. maximize what we have!
