Good morning. I'm reading the comments with interest. I'm Laurie who was referenced in the story. This happened to my sister. It is a "big deal." She endured eight shots yesterday. My sister picked up her dog to protect him from the attacker-- and was twice attacked. It was a scary and frightening ordeal--unprovoked. Her little dog is injured; has deep puncture wounds, is limping and on pain medication. He whimpers when anyone tries to pet or pick him up. His wounds are being cleaned twice a day. He received an antibiotic shot. Resting for him means not wanting to leave the house and doesn't want or can't go on his daily walks. We trust the legal process to work. We are grateful for the support from the Lawrence community, the Animal Control Officers and the local media. Thank-you Lawrence community for your amazing support.
