How much does the rainy weather affect your mood?
The rain/weather thing isn't the real story here - it's the amazing fact that out of four people, three of them have two first names, and the fourth has two last names!! What are the odds? Nearly incredible!

Lawrence and several area schools cancel Tuesday classes
Saturday I noticed the balcony door to one of the "lofts" on the 4th floor of the Hobbs-Taylor building was standing wide open. Sunday I noticed that it was still standing wide open so I called the police. Well, today they're still standing wide open and I bet somebody will wish this rain, freezing or not, had been cancelled.

Local artists trade their sketch pads for hiking boots
This is the comment I left in response to the LJ-World story on the same topic:
What's wrong with just leaving the intended area alone? Not every wall needs a mural, not every space needs a sculpture. I have always appreciated that stretch of woods along the river between the parks for being just what it is, even when, from time to time, homeless people have taken up residence there. I would be happier if more people looked around and saw what was inherent in a place than gave in to their urge to be "creative". Finding something meaningful to say or do comes only after really listening, seeing, and understanding the context.
