Should residents or businesses who use too much water be fined?
Your post must be slowly evaporating instead of simply vanishing because as I type this, it's 13.5 hrs after you posted. Koch brothers???? Did they launch intrusive investigations of AP and other reporters?

Should residents or businesses who use too much water be fined?
For what we are paying on our water bills, is there such a thing as "too much water"?
Can we go a month without talk of yet another increase?????
The new norm is for government entities- who are on OUR dime- our OUR employees- sit around and dream up ways to punish us. BS.

Would you rather have a lower income tax and higher sales tax, or lower sales tax and higher income tax?
Lower government waste and spending , lower income tax and lower sales tax.

Opinion: What, exactly, was the IRS thinking?
Because in the political climate we live in, it has become par for the course that *some* opinions will be met with punitive actions. Be glad that a removed post is all you have to fear for expressing your own point of view. Beats being audited, smeared, investigated, wire tapped, etc. You must possess the more righteous opinion because your post is still there a day later. Or maybe this "rag" believes in free speech and tolerance - novel concept.

Menard's project highlights city rule on vacant space; a look at how Lawrence ranks in state retail report
The City doesn't want private enterprise like book stores to compete with government enterprises like the unneeded new library.

Artists take the spotlight at Art in the Park
Nope, not too local anymore- now we even have a graffiti "artist" who is a Mexican national .

Automated trash truck
Well now, if this doesn't attract seniors to Lawrence, I don't know what will. The Bingo halls will be full with unemployed trash collectors, anyway.
This should make us the entertainment capital of the county. Woo hoo. Rock on, Larryville.

City of Lawrence begins using new automated trash truck
Maybe the robotic arm can remove the brainiacs that keep finding new ways to shake us down.

Lawrence man faces federal prosecution for stolen handgun
Taking legal, law abiding gun owner's rights away will not prevent any of the scenarios you discuss from happening-
Convicted felons are not allowed to possess firearms. Already. People are not allowed to steal guns- If they are "allowed" , they would not be stealing. Someone would be loaning or giving them a gun.
The already existing laws will not be stronger, even if written in all caps.
Edit- when responded to the 1st comment- the sarcasm nanny part wasn't there- (was it being edited/ added as I typed?) so never mind. move along. nothing to see here.
