This is a really hard time for everyone that knew Casey, but fighting with people on here that did not know him will not bring him back. Its pointless. I just wanted to let people know that we have learned a lesson. Getting into online fights with people i have never met is for one childish and for two really not going to solve anything.

Not really Happy_Go_Lucky. You are guys judging Casey for the confederate flags and the cigerettes. Smoking and the flag had nothing to do with his death. A cigerette did not kill him and neither did a flag but you are all passing judgement on him for those things as well as the alcohol. I smoke about a pack in a half a day (yes i am trying to cut down on that too) but does that mean i am a bad person because i started smoking when i was 14?

Thank you Kmat!! I need all the help and support i can get. Personally i believe you should live everday as if it were your last. Not saying make stupid decisions and go all out crazy but dont take anything forgranted. Tell the people close to you that you love them everyday. You never know when it is your time or theirs. But live life with no regrets. Even if you make a bad choice dont regret it but learn from it.

How do you know you are old enough to be my parent? Casey had friends from ages 16-35. I may not be the smartest one on here but i believe i am a respectible member of society. Casey had friends of all ages, races, and iq scores. I honestly hate what the world has come too. This world is so full of hate. No on cares about anyone but themselves. Reading the news all you hear about is people killing other people. Why cant we all be free to be who we are? And not have to worry about what everyone else will think. Or have to worry about being put down because you feel differently than some one else.

If i was a kid i would enjoy it, but unfortunatly i have past that time in my life. I everything that night was wrong. But you cannot blame Casey for the 16 year olds drinking. They made that decision all on their own. Casey is not the only one to blame here. Everyone in that car is to blame. They all made the decision to get into that car that night. Like i have stated previously we have learned. I am getting my alcohol problem undercontrol. My classes actually start next sat. Wish me luck. But everyone is blaming Casey. Yes i know it was his choice to drink, Yes it was his choice to speed. But Casey is not the one who should take all of the blame. Everyone in that car is too blame. The kid that grabbed the steering wheel for instance. Never touch the steering wheel unless you are the driver. Everyone in that car had been drinking. I pray for the girls still in the hospital but you have to remember they made that choice that night as well as Casey.

Kmat if you read my previous post you would see that I have learned a lesson from all that has happened. I was going down the same road Casey went down. I do not want to put anyone else through what we are going through right now. I have actually checked myself in to classes to get over my alcohol problem. A lot of Casey's friends really did learn a lesson. Those alcohol bottles were not drank. They were poured out as a tribute to never letting this happen again. And yes there are people posting on here saying good ridence and thats one less ignorant redneck. It just really hurts to see so many people judging everyone. No one has a right to judge, people are who they are. I loved Casey now i have to live with the emptyness in my heart that he has left. I just pray that everyone not just me has taken something from Casey's death. Please DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!!! If you know you are going to drink do not wait for someone to take your keys. Give them to someone before you start drinking. Always have a DD or stay where you are!!! Let Casey's death be a learning experiance for us all DO NOT LET CASEY DIE IN VAIN!!

boebachter you didnt know who Casey was. All you know about him is that he made a horrible mistake. You never got to meet the man that would do anything for anyone. All you know about him is he went out one night and did what a lot of people our age do. Then he made the stupid decision to drive! You never got the opportunity to see was an amazing guy he truly was. Yeah he may have had different beliefs than you, but does that make him a bad person. He liked the confederate flag but isnt it his right as an american to have that flag? Yes he drank. How many 19 and 20 year olds do you know that drink? I am not saying this was not Casey's fault. He is as much to blame as everyone else that chose to get into his car that night. But none of this means he was a bad person.

This is to everyone that has said bad things about Casey. I am not personally attacking anyone. How would you feel if your son, brother, friend was the one driving the car that night. Would you be saying the same things that you are saying about Casey? Would you be saying he is a stupid SOB that deserved what he got? Or would you be trying to defend his honor. Yes what Casey did was very stupid, but we his friends and family just lost some one very close to us. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. I am extremely greatful that no one else lost there life, but we do have to bury an amazing guy tomorrow. That is very hard on all of us. And about the 6 year old girl i am very sorry that happend. I do know what its like to lose your mom! My heart goes out to her.

I understand that it is their own choice to get into that car, and that he was stupid for driving that night just like i was stupid for driving when i got my DUI, but losing a really good friend is hard no matter how they died. We still have to live with the fact that we will never see Casey again. I have now had to bury 4 of my close friends. They died different ways 2 suicides, 1 died of cancer, and now this. No matter how they died it still leaves a whole in my heart where they were that will never be filled. Drinking and driving is extremely stupid especially when you are going around 80mph on a winding road that is slick. We can not take back what he did no matter how much we want to. I just really hope people have learned from Casey's mistake so we do not have to lose someone else or put someone else through the pain we are going through right now! Death is hard no matter what the circumstances.
