Owner of proposed Meriden strip club files lawsuit against Jefferson County
How often will the club be open at the same time as the school? I am not saying that I am for the club or against it, really...it doesnt affect me either way, but I am thinking about how much money would be brought into JeffCo. And, uhm...if you don't like something, just stay away from it.

Shooting at apartment complex sends Lawrence man to Topeka hospital with life-threatening injuries
As a person who was sitting in the hospital witnessing all of the drama and activity of the night - LMH is not a trauma center - but they sure had their stuff together in the midst of all this. I would not be so quick to condemn, at least they do what they can for the patient and then send them to the best place for them. Why would you want a trauma treated at a hospital that is not equipped to deal with it?

Stabbing during fight in downtown Lawrence sends Kansas City man to hospital
Just sitting in one small area for 4 hours and seeing quite possibly all 10-12 of those officers on duty in that time span is a true testament to how hard they work.

McLouth High football player Trevor Roberts loses part of leg after compound fracture during game
The road ahead is going to be long, and sometimes rough, but I have faith that he can handle it. Thank God for Trevor's support system - his friends, family, and a community that is behind him the entire way. It is sad that something so horrible had to happen to such a talented young man, it is awful. It is my understanding that Trevor is taking this in stride and is ready to take this on full throttle. What an inspiration! Instead of playing the blame game, maybe we should take a cue from him and deal with what we are handed? Maybe things were not ideal, or perfect in this situation...but what part of life is? When prayers go up, blessings come down. I will continue praying for you Trevor - you can lean on us whenever you need to.
