Kansas police officers may be required to wear body cameras

Let's all wear body cameras .. I mean, we have cell phones with cameras ... then there will NEVER be a worry about what was said or really happened with ANYTHING!!!!! (Note: I AM joking :) )

WOW to increase many cable bills by more than $15 a month; Eudora bests Lawrence in young families ranking

Why don't they fix the problems we CURRENTLY have before they raise what is already a HIGH cost!! We have an orange "extension" cord running down our yard between my and the house next door because they can't figure out why we don't have the bandwidth we're supposed have - that we've complained about many times and they said was OUR wiring - which their tech now says isn't!

What defunct Lawrence business do you miss the most?

I have several! Griffs, Vista, Moore Burger and Henry's!

Internet start-up company opening office in downtown Lawrence; city to again debate parking exemption for apartment complex near KU; city sets ribbon-cutting date for VenturePark

100 parking spaces seems like a LOT for that area to absorb. Why do we keep letting buildings be built without requiring them to stick by the code? If I'm building a house, I have to stick by the codes. If they want to build it - and they WILL be making money from it - they should be paying for the parking spaces, not the city tax payers who are constantly having to make up for what the city commission dumps on us. We're tired of making the rich, richer!

Letter: Police facility

Remember that next time we need a new fire station .. how many high dollar stations and equipment do we now have? and how many police stations? I would assume that most people need help from the police more often than they do the fire department. Not to play either down as both are very much needed.

Lawrence police chief urges residents to take fireworks ban more seriously

Don't blame the Police Chief and officers, they are only enforcing what the City Commission voted as a ban.

Police: Man killed in shooting at East 13th and Maple Lane during Mother's Day cookout

There is no 13th and Maple - it only runs to 9th street. Do you mean Maple Lane?

Psychology professor Stephen Ilardi chosen as KU's 2014 HOPE Award winner

While I'm sure all were deserving (I am a bit biased as I've worked with Wally Meyer and he's a great guy with awesome ideas and program), I have taken Psychology with Professor Illardi and he is an AWESOME professor. His lectures were funny, interesting and informative. Every class period has you until the very end. Congratulations to Prof. Ilardi on his win and to the other nominees for being so well thought of by your students to be in the top 5!!!
