Lawrence police to patrol Topeka Saturday during services for slain officers
Surprised its only LPD, Shawnee County Sheriff, and KHP providing extra man power, figured some JoCo and other neighboring counties would send officers. Either way, very impressed with LPD response and willingness to step up in this time of need.

Dems hold their own in county
Hoarse from campaigning, Ellis said it was difficult for a person not from Lawrence to win the district. He said he was glad that the race had been respectful. “I wish her well,” he said of Francisco. “Hopefully we’ll get more funding for education,” he said.
WHAT!?!? You can't agree with your opponent!!
Sarcasm.
Good for you Mr. Ellis. You could teach a civility lesson to almost ALL current politicians, state, local, and federal.

Republicans criticize incorrect mailers in two legislative races; Democrats apologize
Wait.....you can't just apologize. That's not what we do in politics. First you have to deny you sent out the mailers. Second you have to acknowledge you may sent out the mailers but haven't seen them so you can't comment. Third on a Friday afternoon, closer to 3 or 4 PM, release a half-hearted apology the mailers were inaccurate whilst also slamming the Republicans for something else, hence it evens out.
Sarcasm.

Federal suit against KU dismissed
I worked in the KU IT Dept in 2009. None of the people in the Customer Service Center were fired because of age; they were all let go because of reorganization. The CSC has been reorganized since then and is a completely different group with a different purpose than it had in 2009.
Quite frankly this is just somebody who didn't want to recognize the IT department was going in a different direction.

"Homo"sexuality Is a Treatable Affliction
I feel like this guy is the embodiment of the character Stepehen Colbert portrays on his show; he goes with his gut, not facts. He also probably doesn't like books, educated people, or any opinions other than his. So to help the author out here's a hint.... HE'S ACTING ON HIS SHOW. NOBODY ACTUALLY ACTS LIKE THAT!!
