Lawrence Man's Dog Shot to Death

This is so sad! I have no problem with keeping your dog off of a leash in the country IF you can train them to stay on your property! My dog is loose but doesn't wander very far. The only times I've watched her go off the property were to chase away our neighbor's dogs. There is no reason to shoot stray animals unless they are aggressive. I've chased many strays off just by hollering or walking towards them. No violence needed!

McLouth High football player Trevor Roberts loses part of leg after compound fracture during game

I am AMAZED that they did the titanium rod surgery that fast. I had a similar injury a few years ago - compound fracture right leg, both tibia and fibula broken and was told that they are required to wait at least 10 days to do the surgery and required to take antibiotics because of the risk of infection. This is a sad, sad story for this boy. Many prayers and best wishes for recovery.

Kansas Turnpike traffic, construction creates major congestion near Lawrence

It is ridiculous out there. I got on at the Iowa exit this evening around 6:45 heading west and as I crossed the bridge - it was backed up both directions as far as I could see. Like a giant parking lot of misery. Boo KTA.
