Lawrence-based Dobski & Associates to tear down, rebuild De Soto McDonald's

You must not be a stay at home parent with several small children of different ages that you are responsible for entertaining all day every day. I don't have a problem with keeping my kids busy. It would be nice to have a place close by that I can take my kids to socialize and exercise with other children that is indoors and isn't overly expensive. If wanting to get out of the house WITH my children and interact with other humans over the age of 5 makes me a bad parent to you, that's too bad.

When you find a sports team that allows my 1 year old to join let me know- And one that isn't a parent-tot class since I have other children that need to be watched at the same time.

I know what a park and a backyard is. But you must not realize that most of the time in Kansas it is either too hot or too cold to bring the kids to the park for extended periods of time. When it gets too hot out you can get seriously burned by playground equipment. Aside from the local swimming pool, which is only open from 1-7pm 2 months out of the year, there is nothing for little kids to do in Eudora. So sorry I thought that it might be nice to have somewhere closer to take the kids to burn off energy without having to drive 20 miles away.

They should build it with an indoor playland. Having to drive all the way to the 6th and waka location from Eudora sucks.

Eudora submitting bid for pedestrian walkway over K-10

You must be the one that doesn't live in Eudora or have no idea of the geographics of the town. The neighborhood that it would connect from over by the pool doesn't have that many houses, and where it would connect to on the otherside of the road over by the pet hospital does not have sidewalks-there is a huge empty field between where the bridge would be build and the middle school and high school. If you took a look at the ACTUAL plans that the city has mapped out of what they would like to happen ALSO includes adding the "recreational path"s for the pedestrian bridge, as well as on church street, as well as under K-10 further down the road about a 1/2 mile, and also on the Winchester St bridge. That to my count makes 4 connections under/over K-10 within a mile span. If they don't get approved to take over the farmers field and build sidewalks to the schools then the entire project is a waste since Church street is supossed to be getting sidewalks too. If they build everything that they are planning on this project it is going to cost WAY more then the 1.8 million.

Eudora submitting bid for pedestrian walkway over K-10

Biggest waste of money ever. Spending money to build a pedestrian bridge from no where to no where is a joke. There are not even very many houses in the subdivision over by the pool, and they are going to have it connect to a farmers field. Would make a lot more sense to just expand the bridge over Church St that already goes over K-10.

Town Talk: Soup and sandwich shop opens near Clinton Parkway Hy-Vee; Meritrust Credit Union signs deal for new eastern Lawrence branch; city to host trash can recycling event Friday

Bank of the West on 6th street is also closing in a few weeks. Too bad it was it's only Lawrence location.

Installation of cable median barrier to begin next week on K-10

A 5 point harness carseat would have also saved this boys life.....how come I don't see his parents campaigning for the use of extended weight limit carseats to keep bigger kids safe?

Sound Off: Is there any way the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department can send an electronic remi

Somewhere on the enrollment system you can print off a calendar that lists all of the activities you are enrolled in for a specific month along with class dates and times. You can print this off when you enroll or you can print it off once a month so you know what you are enrolled in.

Town Talk: City would pay $24M in lease payments for proposed rec center, complex would include special sales tax; land transfers, including sale of Kmart Distribution Center property

Yup 7.5 million in interest from the taxpayers over 20 years....that's $375,000 a year paid to Fritzel.
