Kansas Supreme Court orders some school funding increases, sends big question back to lower court

It worked great in the 50's, 60's, and 70's... and is exactly why the 1% do NOT want it to work anymore. Today or in the future.

You are quite accurate Richard... this is the new reality. Our income taxes deducted from our paychecks are going straight into corporate bank accounts...repeat until realized. This is exactly why the corporations have been relentlessly advocating for small government. By small they really mean run by a few major corporations. The corporations have won and have almost complete control. Big government (By the people, for the people) organizes society as a whole... the 1% in mind as well as the 99%. Small government (corporations) organizes society by taking money from the 99% by law, thereby creating a powerful corporate state run by the 1%, for the 1%. This is reality people. Listen to jimhightower.com - the one Richard has shown. It really is better to listen to it with someone listening with you. It seems unreal... you will need to have someone there listening so you can see each others jaws drop...

Letter: Wrong values

If your (Mr. Smith's) definition of a crazy is living as if "anything goes" then I agree with you. This description would fit a small minority of the crazies here in Lawrence. This spirit of "anything goes" is pervasive on Wall Street however. In fact it describes the Shadow Market 100% accurately. It's a way of investment banking that doesn't show up on the banks conventional balance sheet, thus - to this day - it remains unregulated. It's what caused the 2007-2008 financial crisis.

KU Chancellor says she didn't know about UNC student athlete fraud

If they are in charge the are kept FROM knowing what is going on. That's just the nature of how things works. There's a lotta sophisticated maneuvering that goes in in the mind of the high brow - brown nosier. It's an art form.

Opinion: Tensions growing in the Pacific

Tokyo will get over losing the Senkaku Islands. They will probably turn into a tourist trap like Hawaii...

Opinion: It’s a great time to be a liberal

I think all people wanting to move to the U.S. should read at least 6 months worth of Will's opinions. For another view of those opinions/topics, they should read what Chomsky has to say about them.

Opinion: Press freedom under attack

It's not a conservative country anymore. Hasn't been for quite a while. If it wasn't for the conservative/republican gerrymandering of every inch of this country, there wouldn't have been a republican president for at least twenty years because blue states would out number red states. Conservatives have been in complete denial. Fox news and RealClearPolitics.com were - jaws open - awe struck - in a state of dis-belief - shocked to the very core - when Obama won the presidency. I and everyone I knew understood Obama had it locked the 2nd day of his campaign, and I'm not joking here. The sanctity and unparalleled wisdom of the republican party, anointed by God, with it's Manifest Destiny to rule became irrelevant to most of us long ago, and finally now is it confronting and lashing out and threatening a world that has become foreign and almost evil to them. There is a possibility that they may become dangerous on a nation wide scale.

Lawrence liquor store owners oppose push for groceries to sell more alcohol

It would be interesting to see how much cash Dillon's & Hy-Vee has had to invest in lobbying and who that cash went to. It's been hard for me to find out. Anyone know? Jessica says Kansans are traveling out of state to buy groceries & alcohol in one place. She better do better "bull" than that or she's gonna lose her job. What needs to happen? Liquor stores need to be free to sell anything they want..including fire arms. This should have been accomplished YESTERDAY. End of story, close your browser.
