County bans fireworks on public land

No. Kawman_sense says all the watering systems on the west side of town have most of the lawns looking lush and green! Rather than shooting the fireworks up into the air and risking the shake shingle roof igniting, I say we lay them flat on the street, us at one end, and other at the other and have a good old fashioned fireworks war!

Critics blast Brownback for attending prayer day hosted by 'inhumane' anti-gay groups

Just curious. Can someone please explain or point us to the 'evil' that folks are referring to?

I don't see it......

Fellow Americans,

Right now, America is in crisis: we have been besieged by financial debt, terrorism, and a multitude of natural disasters. As a nation, we must come together and call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy.

Some problems are beyond our power to solve, and according to the Book of Joel, Chapter 2, this historic hour demands a historic response. Therefore, on August 6, thousands will gather to pray for a historic breakthrough for our country and a renewed sense of moral purpose.

I sincerely hope you’ll join me in Houston on August 6th and take your place in Reliant Stadium with praying people asking God’s forgiveness, wisdom and provision for our state and nation. There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees.

"But according to the department of revenue, that M I G H T not be enough."
"But, the Department of Revenue also T H I N K S tax should apply to the amount of money Groupon returns to the retailer for every item purchased."

So, reading this article, I come to the conclusion that the Department of Revenue does not know how this should be handled. Let us know when they do.

Tune In: PBS' ‘Frontline’ explodes the ‘CSI’ fantasy

Being an IT professional - I see the same things regarding 'Technology' in the movies and TV. In the real world, people don't just say 'pull up the gizamagu and show me the video of the suspect' or - 'get me the call list from so-and-so on this day' and then in seconds - it is produced. Sadly, our society believes this is real, and then when you are at work, and the Marketing VP wants some data added to a report - they insist it should not take more than 15 minutes. (not saying that in some places, adding data to a report could be that simple - but in most cases.....)
