Another bill opposed by unions introduced as House gears up for debate on paycheck measure
Unions have mismanaged their members benefits to the point where companies are now fearing they are on the hook for billions of additional benefits. This is after they already paid exactly what the collective bargaining agreement said they owed for the employer paid benefits. Unions are no longer benefiting their members, are a drain to the free market, are costing thousands upon thousands of jobs. I should know, I have been on the financial side for union companies for many years.

Eudora submitting bid for pedestrian walkway over K-10
Yet another example of inept planning and spending of taxpayer money. West Elementary still being paid for and sits empty. Nottingham is being maintained and partially used. Terrible leadership and high tax rates. The beat goes on for Eudora.

Eudora city administrator resigns, takes similar job in Minnesota
Second highest tax rate in Douglas County (Baldwin City highest); they continue to build expensive unnecessary buildings; schools sit empty while still paying for them; property owners don't take care of or maintain their properties; taxes will continue to rise for this town.

Rumblings of Menards coming to Lawrence may be impacted by retailer's decision to pull back on Kansas City area expansion, which it blames on Obama
My employer has already made it public that employee cost for health coverage will be raised 5% next year. Raise is not because of higher health care costs, but due to the added costs coming with Obamacare. There is going to be a lot of buyer remorse with this Big O fool !!

Budget crunch may take bite from county road and bridge projects
I got a better idea. If the values have been over valued by 3 %, then refund the property owners their money. I tried unsuccessfully twice to get my property assessment reduced and the answer was no.
