City commissioner wants review of city's storm shelter policies in wake of Oklahoma tornado
he was quoted. "if you were in a grocery store shopping that day, you will probably be shuffled off to a back room and a walk in cooler maybe held together by duct tape." those coolers are obviously designed with a little more thought than mr farmer used when stating the above quote. The cooler took a direct hit from an F5 tornado. All that was left was the cooler. I wonder why they were shuffled back to that area. How much more ideal can you get than a 100% survival rate? What are you looking for when an f5 tornado strikes Lawrence?

Thank you for the tip to tune into cnbc this evening. I thoroughly enjoyed the Boston Bruins dramatic 3rd period come from behind overtime victory over the Toronto maple leafs. Hockey is indeed entertaining reality television!

Which does the city prefer? Park on the street with roads covered in snow blocking clean path for plow trucks or is it better to park in the driveway and block the sidewalk

Anyone know which of these two options the city prefers? Should I park in my driveway and block the sidewalk or park on the street and block the plows? Which is less of an inconvenience? I'm leaning toward parking in the driveway and partially blocking the sidewalk so roads are freed up and there will likely be fewer jiggers etc? Anyone have any experience with this? I don't want a ticket

Officials to take a ride on deteriorating Amtrak route through Kansas
I was astonished at how comfortable and relaxing train travel is. I can't imagine how much better it would be of the government would get out of the way and let the free market take over the train industry dissolving Amtrak. 3200 for two people to go to Virginia is ridiculous.

this is very true. Also the "tradition" of championship basketball at KU should really be attributed to the 08 team because no one today remembers the 88 team. The winning tradition didnt really begin until Bill Self got there.

WHAT! Do a little research district officials. Lebron James started doing this? Lebron stole this idea from Kevin Garnett. KG stole this idea from Michael Jordan who used to use rosin on his hands not baby powder. Read a book district officials!
