Do you think students in kindergarten through third grade should be able to ride their bikes to school?

My children go to Deerfield elementary and they have always had this rule in place. I have always rode my bike to school with my children starting at kindergarten. Yesterdays school news letter stated the district rule and went further to state " THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE, EVEN RIDING WITH A PARENT OR OLDER SIBLING IS PROHIBITED. Now that is just stupid. My children are older now but it is not the schools right to tell me or any parent what our means of transportation can be. I have always been with my children whether we walk or ride bikes. I'm a very protective parent. These rules can go way over board.

Should women be able to breast-feed anywhere they have the right to be?

I think women who insist on breast feeding in public want the attention. I breast feed 2 children and never found it difficult to be very discreet. Now my children are school age and it upsets me very much when I take them to the library and they are exposed to a woman with her breast out. It is a very self centered selfish attitude for a women to think that she can do whatever she wants no matter how it might affect others.

Cell phone use may soon be curbed

This is the dumbest ban I've ever heard of. I walk my children to school every morning and the worst drivers are the ones reaching into back seat for something. What is so important in the back seat that it can't wait until you stop. I don't see as many problems with cell phones as I do with some guy so busy oggling me that he forgets to stop at the cross walk for us to walk acrossed. Theres always the lovely young lady in her SUV that is going ten miles an hour over the speed limit but absolutely has to find that lipstick in her purse. I see these things every day. Lawrence please ban the back seat reach, oggling, and the lipstick search.

Do you agree with the verdict in the Thomas E. Murray murder trial?

Maybe. I followed the trial completely. I'm glad that I didn't have to be on that jury. I think that he is probably guilty but I have doubts. I wouldn't have been able to find him guilty.

Do you think landlords would accept homeless people as tenants if they had financial support from the city?

The government already helps those in need. It's called SRS and HUD. Why should the tax payers keep footing the bill for everyone else. In many cases the homeless are addicted to that lifestyle and will end up right back on the street. Helping them to find and maintain employment is a better option.
