Town Talk: 2011 Lawrence home sales fall nearly 15 percent; Papa Keno's pizza changes ownership; N. Lawrence customer service center plans to add 60-plus jobs by year's end; weekly land transfers

Thank god pizza is cooked at 400+ degrees! I watched them make my pizza once, and the gal who was making it ran her fingers through her hair, checked her cell phone, put her hands in her jeans pockets, and wiped something from under her nose all in the course of adding the toppings, and getting the pizza in the oven. She did not at any point wash her hands. Hopefully the new ownership will have higher standards for safe food handling practices.

Round Corner Drug, Cheese Shoppe closes

No tears here. Mr. Wilcox was a bad man who tried to forcibly detain me in the basement there. While the sandwiches were good, it was pretty well a mess back there. That place was Shady!

Do you support a bill in the Kansas Legislature to require random drug testing of those receiving public assistance?

What is wrong with you people? Seriously!!! So anybody who receives any kind of subsidy from the government should be forced to take a drug test, huh? So all of you who might have received any kind of tax credit towards a house or a hybrid vehicle, should you be forced to take a test? Once the government starts forcing it's citizenry to take medical tests it seems that everyone's civil liberties are at risk.

'Antigone' haunting in its timeliness

"glorifies war"? While war may be an inevitable and sometimes unavoidable...I think there is little that is glorious about the act of taking people's lives.
