Knology set to drop WGN, RFD TV and other networks from cable lineup; Baker files plans for $1.2 million wetland education center; study finds Lawrence has among the lowest development fees in the region
In my search for cable companies downtown..knology is all ive been able to find. They have a monopoly. It's funny Internet/tv is cheaper in kc than it is here.

Dropping channels and keeping prices the same.
Also annoys me they are dropping the TV guide channel. Not all of us buy/rent the stupid cable boxes.
I wish they had some widespread competition in lawrence for cable services.

City to consider new regulations for sidewalk dining umbrellas, music, signs in downtown Lawrence
I'm pretty tall and can't say I've ever worried about almost hitting my head or seen pedestrian traffic flow impeded by umbrellas.... Boredom strikes again

Sound Off: Who is paying for the polls that are open during the pre-voting period and why? Why isn’t
Are they serious? This question could have been answered by anyone with common sense.
It's all about encouraging voter turn out, making it easier on the voter, reducing lines, etc...

Game nights present parking peeve to campus workers
Take a bus or walk. KU offers tons of buses. I personally just walk to campus when I need to be there. It's one night a week for a few months. Have a friend drop you off, there are tons of options. and lol at a facebook page making a difference.
parking tickets on campus are actually $25 by the way.
"After 5 p.m. on weekday game days, certain parking lots are reserved for those with valid KU parking permits who need to park for academic purposes. Students, staff and faculty may move to lots 34 and 61/62, and faculty and staff may also use lots 2, 6, 7, 17, 33, 35, 37, and 129. In addition to these lots, any KU parking permit is valid in the Park & Ride parking lot, and buses run until 10:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday and until 7 p.m. Friday, when classes are in session.
Visitors to the university who are not attending the game may park after 5 p.m. in most of the lots north of Jayhawk Boulevard, especially the stadium lots. Please pay close attention to the lot restrictions on the signs."
