Gun bill sponsor rebuffs legal concerns
Where did Rubin go to law school? What were his marks? He is a moron and I want to make sure none of my employees are from the same institution.

Cyclist suffers critical injuries after being struck by SUV
neworleans- I'm so sorry that you are unable to keep aware of your surroundings. If you consider yourself this dangerous to a cyclist, it should be obvious to you that you more dangerous to your fellow motorists as well. I would recommend that you surrender your license until you are able to drive in a safe manner for every person around you. Here is a link to a drivers ed class that I hear good things about. Good luck and godspeed. http://www.kennedydrivered.com/

Brown, Holland trade verbal jabs over tax cuts, school funding, K-10 safety
So the comment goes something like, the tax cuts will affect the education your children get, reducing their income and the income of an entire generation and the response is "our tax cuts will put a few more bucks in your pocket?"
Hmmm... a few bucks now, or the prosperity of an entire generation, which will ensure the one after that is better off, which will ensure the one after that is better off, which.......
Geez, so hard to decide.

Lawrence city commissioners set to approve $885,490 purchase of 21,000 wheeled plastic trash carts
First, if you don't like the trash cart scenario of awesomeness, you can haul your own stuff to the dump. I mean, it IS America. Land of the free. You are free to not buy trash pick up service and you are free to take your own trash to the dump. So put up or shut up.
Second, how do you throw away a trash can? Anyone ever try that? Seems like it's going to be a tricky one.....

10th Circuit Court of Appeals upholds state's approved route of South Lawrence Trafficway through the Baker Wetlands
Wouldn't it be cool if the 1940's was the "original" state of everything? The original state of the land starting around 31st street south to the next set of bluffs was wetlands and not farmland. The early city settlers drained them, as they made very fertile soil for farming. Fast forward about three or four generations to those folks that "dmcclain" knows that farmed it in the 40's and... farmland. But let's not forget that it used to be diamonds too, or farmland again. And now, wetlands or it's original state.
But

Kansas House and Senate negotiating plans to cut millions in taxes
Okay, so if I'm reading this right:
http://budget.ks.gov/publications/FY2... .....
Then the House plan cuts 27% from the total budget and the senate plan cuts 30% from the total budget. Both over the next 3 years? Has anyone actually tried to figure out EXACTLY what we're going to sacrifice?
