Lawrence man says he's victim of a hate crime after assault on Mass. Street last Friday

There are a lot of posters above that did indeed say it was his fault and he brought it on himself by getting in the car with strangers. Again, you proved my point that the reason he was beat up was because he was gay. That's the only point I'm trying to make. For all we know, he would've been taken home safely or dropped close to his home if they had not known he was gay.

For all of you posters claiming he did this to himself by getting in the car with strangers...

Based on what I read in the article, I am led to believe that had they never asked him if he was gay, it's possible that he would've been taken home safely. I think that's the whole issue here. These strangers very well may have had good intentions to start but once they found out he was gay THEY made the bad decision.

I just don't see how anyone can say it was his fault because he got in the car with strangers. That doesn't seem to be the issue. The reason they beat him up wasn't because he got into the ride they were offering. It was because they found out he was gay and probably wouldn't have offered him a ride if they'd known.

I just can't stand that things like this happen. I understand we don't all share the same beliefs but why not just leave it at that? Why do we have to let others know that we don't agree with something by resorting to violence or hateful words?

Driving decency

What you said above applies to roundabouts as well. The cars on the heavily-traveled streets think they may just barrel on through without acknowleding the "YIELD" signs. People that don't know how to use roundabouts are at the top of my list of biggest pet peeves.

Do you think you can drive safely while using a cell phone?

In my opinion it just depends on the person and their frame of mind at the time.

Personally, the few times I have been on the phone while driving I find that I am too focused on the road and I tend to not listen to what the caller is saying so I don't bother with it anymore.

Police: Man shot two men who were trying to rob him at mobile home park

Just some general thoughts here....
This is strictly a "what if" situation.
I was wondering what you guys would think if you were to find out that this was the home of a drug dealer and that maybe there were drugs and money inside?

I only ask that because I often read comments where people are saying that they wish thugs would kill each other. And also because there was a young child in the home. Would these people still be heroes even though they possibly endanger their child every day by participating in this kind of stuff?

Again, I'm not saying that is the case. This is a "what if" scenario that I would like your opinions on, but I do agree with some of the posters on here that it seems very strange that they would rob this place at random. I know of Louis through my boyfriend and I know that drugs and money are at the top of his My Favorites.
