SRS says workers now can transfer to Topeka; Douglas County commissioners petition governor over office closure

yes - as I said, the lease buyout is more than the $400k ... Brownie and Sidekick with another major fumble ... they (we) would have to spend a ton just to get out of the lease

SRS says workers now can transfer to Topeka; Douglas County commissioners petition governor over office closure

Little bird says stepping away from the Lawrence SRS building lease is not even a savings in the first instance, but the lease buyout or remaining lease term is significant ... far in excess of the $400k figure. Open Records request could find out for sure, no? Brownie and Sid should be ashamed; I'm sure that's not the case.

What's for dinner? Genetically altered meat

Hey - tastes just like salmon; will it be cheaper too? Can't wait to feed it to my children.Reading a great book - Omnivore's Dilemma, which makes a point that we spend more effort finding out about a mechanic than we do learning from where our food comes (not to mention how it is raised). I'm no Joel Salatin (Polyface Farms is amazing, BTW), but I am more and more curious about how well my expectations of USDA mesh with the reality of their mission/loyalties/effects.
