Editorial: Depot windfall
The right thing to do is to raze the building. Personally, I thing the city should give it a bonfire funeral and bulldoze the property. I'll chip in for marshmallows.

Change in state law expected to produce fewer historic preservation reviews in Lawrence
I'd love for the city to sponsor a big bonfire so we can say goodbye to the depot.

Do you think the city needs more parking downtown?
I don't think we should waste money on parking; the city commission has already laid plans to ensure that Lawrence has the worst growth, so the parking shold open up as businesses disappear.

I'd offer my applause if I knew what the purpose of numerical aware was. Anyone know?
I suppose celebrating something local is better than a French Cultural Awareness display.

I've always been a fan of natural selection as well. In fact, that would be an appropriate check box on death certificates.

I'd just like to thank everyone responsible for publishing this question; I have to say that I've never enjoyed reading anything in LJWorld as much as this. Thank you so much.

Letter: Shame on us
As a gun owner, I'm OK with background checks that go as deep as they feel the need to go; I have nothing to hide. On the limited mag. size, I like having several 30-rd mags available. But, I can't argue that it actually adds to my rights by having the extra capacity.
On the other hand, nothing in this bill would have prevented Aurora or Newtown.
It is legislation that will eventually pass; the only reason it didn't pass is legislators are afraid to lose the NRA funding.

Lawrence-based Wicked Broadband announces plan to install super-fast 1 gigabit Internet service to Lawrence neighborhood
Anything we pay for we think we've paid too much. I wish Internet was cheaper too, but I pay for what I need. That said, I don't have an appreciation for the value of faster internet at double the price. If I had a business that needed to upload very large files, I'd be interested. But to pay an extra $600 per year, I just don't have the need. I do have to say that I've been satisfied with Sunflower/Knology/WOW over the years. Their tech support has been superior; they've been responsive and have never charged for on-site visits, even for an 18-connection set-up that utilized three techs.
