KU baseball gets involved in Moore, Okla., relief effort

It doesn't matter how they do in the tournament. This team is already a champion showing the spirit and attitude they have in pooling their funds and making that commitment to help out the people of Moore.

Good job Coach Price and Jayhawk baseball team.

Another shocker! 12th-seeded KU women upset South Carolina, 75-69, to return to Sweet 16

It will be fun watching the match up between Angel and Skylar Diggins from top seeded (and #2 in the country) ND. Even with the game being played in Iowa City, I don't see the Hawkeyes stopping the Irish. Of course it is March Madness so you never know what will happen.

Mark Mangino back in coaching

I believe that loud thud was the shutters in your head crashing when the wind blew through the empty space between your ears. Mangino is still collecting on hiis buyout from KU so he still doesn't have to work. As far as that goes, with what he was paid to work for KU and then to not work for KU, he probably doesn't ever have to work again.

Opinion: Confident Naadir Tharpe no longer questioning his ability

It's a link to Nick's photo gallery from the game. The link appears in every story about the game so you don't have to figure out which story to go to if you want to find the gallery. JW does this for every KU game. Lazy posting phoggy.

Sound Off: Genesis Health Club

Anyone that has been a member of LAC during the past ten years can tell you about the roof leaks all over the building. One can only imagine what the rest of the structure is like when the roof is in such poor condition.

Lecompton Chihuahua recovering from Rottweiler attack, dog lovers helping with vet bills

From a story this week at CBSNews.com:

“A study performed by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the CDC, and the Humane Society of the United States, analyzed dog bite statistics from the last 20 years and found that the statistics don’t show that any breeds are inherently more dangerous than others. The study showed that the most popular large breed dogs at any one time were consistently on the list of breeds that bit fatally. There were a high number of fatal bites from Doberman pinschers in the 1970s, for example, because Dobermans were very popular at that time and there were more Dobermans around, and because Dobermans’ size makes their bites more dangerous. The number of fatal bites from pit bulls rose in the 1980s for the same reason, and the number of bites from Rottweilers in the 1990s. The study also noted that there are no reliable statistics for nonfatal dog bites, so there is no way to know how often smaller breeds are biting.”

Opinion: Brad Strauss a prep Johnny Football

He's a great kid, and a good player, but let's not get carried away.

Sound Off: Stop Sign

The pavement markings on Delaware can cause some confusion since there is a solid stop marking before the crosswalk. It makes sense that traffic on Delaware proceed without having to stop, but get rid of those markings which under USDOT uniform traffic codes indicate that the driver should stop before entering the intersection. While they are monitoring the traffic at that location, they should note the number of drivers that come out of and going into the property on the east side of Delaware. I don't know how many near misses I've seen because people drive into that property from 9th street or out of that property in any direction without yielding. Someone is going to be badly injured someday, and unfortunately being in the right is going to change the pain that may be suffered.
