Wow, 23rd and Iowa sounds like it will be super fun to drive through next year.

New service allows people to feed KU parking meters from their smartphones, no coins needed

So they want to potentially take some of the few spots available for permit holders away by allowing for metered parking anywhere??? And then take the money and do what - 'cause they sure aren't repaving many lots with the funds. The lot behind Carruth is horrible!

Construction can't stop St. John's Fiesta

Not if you've ever eaten food in Mexico.

Construction can't stop St. John's Fiesta

The food is ok, but in no way "authentic". I despise the overuse of this word to describe food, as it is almost never the case. Why can't LJ just say Mexican food?

KU's Williams Fund opens door for more season-ticket holders to keep seats

Fundraising arm of KU Athletics...not of KU. KU Endowment is the fundraising arm of KU.

Town Talk: City seeks to ban Chinese lanterns; Iwig Dairy store keeping eye open for new location; Zarco 66 owner deep in ethanol debate; electric car charging station for downtown

Natural Grocers also continues to carry Iwig. And I don't mind the parking as much as everyone here appears to.

Town Talk: Kia dealership expanding on 23rd Street; Police Department to get armored vehicle; developers asking TIF money to cover $695,000 in land costs at Ninth and N.H.

Yes, but instead of a flat out no, they encouraged him to redesign until they could approve it. I still am dumbfounded as to why that is even a TIF district to begin with!

Lawrence police release recap of home burglary cases, seek public's assistance

Is it just me, or does the woman look like the man with women's clothing on? It even looks like she has a 5'oclock shadow

Not a fussbudget or professor, but I have been a boss and if one of my employees did something similar, they would receive a talking to. I don't give a rat's behind about general users writing in any which manner on this forum, but as a reader, I DO expect professionalism from those who work for the organization. Typically, from what I have seen written by Journal-World staff addressing comments, the staff retain the same tone and grammar as was used it the article.

Wow. If I was your editor I would be livid with you right now. You are representing your employer, not commenting on a general forum in an anonymous manner. I would recommend using proper grammar in the future when you post in the comments section of a story you wrote. I've never seen a reporter at any paper respond in the comments this way, and as a former journalist, I feel sad for the profession.
