Ambler surprised with mural at KU's student rec center

Write a story about a mural, don't post a picture. Outstanding journalism.

Drunken-driving enforcement campaign ends with 18 DUI arrests

I would like to personally thank the LPD officer that blinded myself and others with his Maglite while I drove through the intersection of 13th and Tennessee at about 11pm a weekend or two ago. It's hard enough to safely navigate that street at night without the fear of a drunktard dashing into traffic. Apparently it's necessary to enforce safety by committing unsafe acts. Outstanding work LPD!

Nearly 200 cited or arrested by special police detail working college party crowds

There is literally a crosswalk every 50ft on Mass street. If only I drove a truck with a grille guard I would happily clean up downtown for the city ;)

On Memorial Day, young veteran wants fellow citizens to think about cost of war

As someone in the Army I can verify Monster Energy drinks are consumed like water by most soldiers. Probably not the best idea in Iraq though.

Sound Off: License stickers

You won't be very hard pressed to see someone rocking a color other than yellow or orange. They're everywhere. Whether or not they have paid their taxes is another question entirely but I would assume people are not that stupid not to put their new stickers on once they've paid annual taxes.

Drivers also get away with not having any working brake lights. Not one, but all three out. If they've gotten away with it that long for all of them to go out, clearly the LPD doesn't have any sort of focus on traffic enforcement.
