Another bill opposed by unions introduced as House gears up for debate on paycheck measure
Hi,
Governor Sam Brownback and republicans in the Kansas legislature are seeking to put an end to all unions in Kansas. HB 2023 and SB 31 are a direct attempt at silencing the hard working men and women of Kansas. As the Kansas Chamber of Commerce lobbyist, Eric Stafford freely admitted in committee "I need these bills to pass so that we can get rid of public sector unions", it's time to put an end to the war on Kansas workers.
That's why I signed a petition to The Kansas State House, The Kansas State Senate, and Governor Sam Brownback.
Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Thanks!

Ashland ends Seabury’s state dream
How many western KS teams have you watched? Go to www.KSHSAA.org and look up state champs. If they are playing nobody why are these teams winning so many championships? What do you count as a tougher schedule? Bigger schools? Better records? What's the criteria for this so called tougher schedule?

Please show where a private school exemption exists. I can find it nowhere in the handbook.

Ask Vaildini, he/she seems to know. If there is there should be a serious punishment.

Its not personal. This is a matter of ethics when, as you have said, these people are breaking the rules. I could see how someone could take it personally, but wouldn't you take it personally if someone beat you out of something by skirting the rules? I also understand that this is just a game, but games have rules and they need to be followed.

#1 How many public schools can afford to lose the enrollment fees right now. And there is a big difference between $100 and 14K.
#2 It is a big deal. Most schools I have been associated with (public and private) don't recruit as you have stated. If they are recruited and given "scholarships" for academic reasons and just happened to be good ball players, I'd understand. But to recruit and offer that on purely athletic reasons is blatantly against the rules (see rule 19). That's my beef with BS.

All that being said. Those boys you got up there are extremely talented. they will be a tough out.

"There are kids at both public High Schools in town that were told if they went to Seabury they would get there tuition paid for."
Rule 19
UNDUE INFLUENCE
To maintain a proper relationship between the academic purposes of schools and their activities programs, all members of the Kansas State High School Activities Association must refrain from recruitment, inducement or other forms of persuasion and undue influence which would encourage a student to enroll in or transfer to a school primarily for activity purposes.
