Kansas Silver-Haired Legislature endorses medical marijuana

My 79 year old mother who suffers from crippling arthritis and watched her daughter die from cancer and suffer from it for months stands proudly for legalization. She's a little church lady that's never smoked anything, rarely ever drank (probably nothing in the last 10 years) and hated hippies, back in the day.

Hippies aren't driving this. People with common sense are.

Idea for Clinton Lake resort scrapped by state; city asked to approve name for Farmland business park

You can't compare Clinton to Tablerock. Tablerock is 6 times bigger than Clinton and the water is much nicer. I believe it's also deeper. Clinton is a cr*phole.

I hate MO, but they do have nicer lakes than we have.

The best is the otherside of Tablerock, Beaver Lake across the border in Arkansas. Not as many people there as Tablerock and the water is so clear that many scuba dive there.

Try doing scuba at Clinton. You can't see your foot underwater if you hang it off a raft.

A new Kansas River trail and city nature area near Burcham Park may be in the works

I wouldn't recommend anyone walking back there. Because there are lots of deer over there, mountain lions are also there at times. They migrate along waterways. Came across one two years ago while walking from Constant to Burcham with my pooch. The dog stopped and refused to go forward. My husband and I could see something was in the path ahead, but weren't sure what it was. Then a large cat tail appeared above the 2' tall grass and we realized it was the lion's head in the trail, peeking out from the grass. We were lucky the wind was blowing towards us (my dog could smell it and that's why he stopped) and there was a concert at Burcham park making noise (it was looking towards the park, probably scared from the noise). The lion didn't see or smell us and we high tailed it out of there. I didn't feel threatened, but knew my dog would be a quick snack. We've also seen tracks on the other side on the levee and my dog has found the lower portion of a deer's leg on the trail, obviously ripped from the deer carcus with teeth marks in it.

But, the state says we don't really have these lions that many of us have seen.

Kansas delegation holds position of making government funding contingent on delaying Obamacare

I like your avatar. Most probably don't understand it, but some of us do.

Kansas delegation holds position of making government funding contingent on delaying Obamacare

You are so clueless!!!! 18 times in the last month Democrats have tried to take the budget to committee and the republicans refused. Normal procedure when the house and senate don't agree on a budget is that it goes to committee!!!! So many of you kool aid drinkers don't even know how your govt works and listen to the BS being spouted by the right. Take a civics lesson, then come back to discuss when you have a better clue of what you're trying to talk about.

Praeger says Congress shouldn't defund Affordable Care Act

My grandfather and great grandfather were doctors and only cared about serving their patients, not how they got paid. Sometime's they didn't get paid.

Praeger says Congress shouldn't defund Affordable Care Act

My father suffered because of a cardiologist that saw a gold mine and Medicare willing to pay for anything he wanted done. He made great money off my dad and my dad suffered the last 9 months of his life instead of being allowed to pass earlier and peacefully. He also filled my mom's head full of lies about how my father (in congestive heart failure) could get better and live longer. There are plenty of great doctors and there are plenty willing to bilk the govt for all they can get. The new rules are aimed to stop this.

Neighbor questions church's use of school

As long as they're paying rent, cool. Make some money for the district.

What I'm sick of are the church's coming around and trying to get me to come to their church, leaving fliers, etc.... If I want to go to church, I will. I don't need to be bothered at home by congregations telling me why I need to come to their church. I consider it harassment. The church I attended growing up never did that.
