Does this mean the Sheriff's deputies and Public Works employess get to throw away their clothes everytime they get a tic on them. Clothing costs for those department will sky rocket.

Letter: KU’s loss
Whining is posting this letter in response to his wife losing her job. This appears to be a good response to the editorial and puts some fact into what the editor was saying. KU needs to meet the needs of all students, not just the ones who use the brick and mortar facilities provided by KU.

Leader of Eisenhower memorial effort discusses embattled plans in talk at Dole Institute
The Eisenhower family needs to back off. They are not building the memorial, it is being built by a grateful nation. I am sure Abraham Lincoln would say his memorial was to gaudy if he could see it himself.
"The commission's plan was questioned. Many thought that architect Henry Bacon's Greek temple design was far too ostentatious for a man of Lincoln's humble character. Instead they proposed a simple log cabin shrine."
Wikopedia quote.
Eisenhower's library in Abilene expresses his simple upbringing. Simple design in his simple hometown. But a tour inside the museum says much more.

Brownback signs into law bill establishing adult stem cell research and treatment at KU Medical Center
I am happy to see the legislature aprove the creation of the stem cell center, but I also figure if THIS legislature is going to approve money, it will be at the expense of existing programs already in place at KU. They are already considering cuts with next years budget.

Editorial: Service optional?
I hope the legislature remembers the last big corporation that made promises to Kansas, Boeing.
We all know how that worked out.

Mail deliveries interrupted by snow; normal schedule should return Saturday
Where have you been for the last 30 years, they always bring in contractors to remove large snowfalls. What are they supposed to do, stop plowing residential areas, take the snowplows off the trucks, and haul the snow themselves.

District orders changes to 8th grade slavery lesson
"So far this year, Harkin (school principle) said, only one parent had expressed concern about the assignment, and that parent’s concerns were quickly resolved."
“My parents grew up in Mississippi, said Kevin Harrell, the district’s special education director, “And so growing up, I heard about Mississippi and I visited Mississippi, and to this day, when I hear about shackles, I think of that. There’s just an emotional response.”
So, one black administrator has an "emotional response", one parent has questions that were quickly resolved, and Adam Holden, Lawrence’s assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, says the lesson "MIGHT" lead to problems, though none have been reported, so they throw it out.

Do you think Gov. Brownback should try to combine the Kansas Department of Transportation with the Kansas Turnpike Authority?
If you think the good old gov is going to use turnpike money for education, I want some of what ever your drinking. It will go to whatever the Koch Brothers tell him.
