Contentious issue of lighted tennis courts near LHS to be discussed again by city commissioners

Actually, Deerfield no longer has lighted tennis courts (a fact I missed until I recently went to play tennis there). Basketball and skateboard only, now.

City set to make additional improvements to Sixth and Iowa intersection

I've always wondered what the functional life of the tunnels underneath 6th & Iowa is - does anyone know? I was born here in 1958, and I can't remember them not being there (my dad always honked when he went through the tunnels, much to the delight of his kids).

What is the plan down the road when they have to be replaced? Talk about bringing traffic to a halt!

Just curious if anyone has ever heard an answer to the tunnels' expected lifespan question.

10th Circuit Court of Appeals upholds state's approved route of South Lawrence Trafficway through the Baker Wetlands

I always hoped the popular vote - and my vote - would actually count. Long overdue.

Body of KU grad found in Maine harbor

Heard on the Hill: Chancellor outlines specific goals in State of the University video; new political website geared toward students; KU-Mizzou game this week inciting some nastiness

Andy, looks like you're missing part of a sentence:

"• KU is preparing to launch a new website, Political Fiber, designed to provide students" has no ending (that I can see, anyway).

Derby couple home for first time since accident paralyzed both of them

Of course not! But I knew the editors would appreciate the opportunity to correct the headline before critical people, such as yourself, had an opportunity to do so. Proofreader by nature....
