Water lilies invade KU’s Potter Lake

My thought exactly! I'd love to have some of this - even if it's to feed my ducks or let a few plants grow in my koi pond!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A veterinarian. Then someone told me how much more school I'd have to go through...

City approves purchasing trash carts, cheaper rate

Where to those that already have the carts fall into these categories? Do we still get the decreased rate? I believe that I currently have to pay for this cart that I use.

Douglas County first in state to offer Smart911

Also, reading the terms of service when signing up - it did state:
Subscriber Critical Care Information also includes information collected through the use of Smart911 and dialing 9-1-1, such as the phone number placing a call into 9-1-1, and the location of a mobile phone registered with a household.
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT SMART911 IS NOT ABLE TO LOCATE ALL MOBILE PHONES AND THAT THIS ABILITY WILL DEPEND IN PART UPON FACTORS SUCH AS TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDER, TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDER ACCOUNT LIMITATIONS OR DEVICE LIMITATIONS.

So it does sound as if they realize that not everyone is calling from the home address :)

Do you pamper your pet?

My chickens & ducks get to eat dinner left-overs. Oh, and we built a pond for the ducks, so yeah, they are pampered.

New Policies at Dillons for Coupon Shoppers

I stopped using checkers when they changed their coupon policy to not taking coupons over $1. If I'm buying something that costs me 10 bucks and they won't take the coupon for $1.25 off, I'm going to take my business else where. Now I go to dillions where they will take that $1.25off coupon. I don't use coupons as much as I should, but I want the availablity to use it when I find a good one.

City law interpretation spares lives of chickens slated for slaughter in public display of art

Agreed Roe, not art.

I can't see why people would want to witness that in the first place. I have chickens, mind you just for the eggs, and completely understand those that have them for meat - but really - she thinks that people will want to come to a public display of slaughtering. What year is this?

Sound Off: I have not received a phone book for the past two years. Is there a phone number to call

Is there a phone number that I can call for them to STOP delivering me the phone book. They get recycled the second they land on our door step. Really - do I need 3 every time you drop them off? We don't even have a home phone and the internet is much easier - I get reviews that way.
