Kansas Supreme Court justices grill lawyers during school finance appeal

Out of all the depressing, idiotic and unnecessary lawsuits Kansas is involved in, this has got to be the most shameful. Our kids deserve better — better educational resources, better examples of leadership and better follow-through on promises..

Brownback administration won't treat same-sex married couples the same for tax purposes

I smell some more expensive, blatantly unconstitutional defense litigation in Kansas ' future ...

Paul Davis makes it official: He's running for governor

Settle down there, waste.

Judging by your clear aversion to Obama — and regardless of how many degrees of separation from him a politician might have — I assume anyone with a "D" behind their name would fall out of your definition for "common sense" or "middle of the road." If you actually followed Kansas politics, you'd know that Davis is about as "common sensed" and moderate as they come. Take a deep breath and think about if Kansas — particularly our underfunded education system and overtaxed property owners — can withstand another four years of Brownback. Brownie's tax plan, and his AG's litany of litigation fees, put as much or more of a strain on everyday Kansans than Obama.

Paul Davis makes it official: He's running for governor

I've been surprised at how many of my conservative chums are speaking out against Brownstain, and that Davis more closely resembles a true, common-sense moderate. Unfortunately, he's about to incur the full force of Americans for Prosperity's smear tactics. Prepare for loads of propaganda on how Davis wants to force Obamacare down your throat, take away your guns and kill your babies.

He's got my vote.

Report: State funding cuts to public schools in Kansas are fourth deepest in the nation

You're inability to properly spell perfectly illustrates the need for more money in our schools.

Report: State funding cuts to public schools in Kansas are fourth deepest in the nation

What's more screwed up is Brownback's and his cronies' tireless talking points regarding the new tax plan — "We've held K-12th grade education harmless."
I can't think of how many times I've read or heard that barefaced lie from Kansas lawmakers. Meanwhile, school districts are forced to turn to the only avenue they can to obtain the funding they're promised by the Kansas Constitution: litigation. So what's the next logical step for Brownback? Change the judicial appointment process so he can ensure a judge with his interests reviews the case. I'm calling it now — If Brownstain wins in 2014, he will seek to amend the Kansas Constitution to change either the appointment process to the Kansas Supreme court, or its verbiage regarding school finance. These next few years could be make or break for public education in Kansas.

Brownback's office redacts names of Court of Appeals candidates from his schedule

Ironic he constantly criticizes the Feds for everything they do — and then he applies their system of appointing a judge! Oink oink
